Coming up on the weekend of June 1st and 2nd, 2013 the Mateel Community Center will kick off the summer festival season with the 37th annual Summer Arts and Music Festival at Benbow Lake State Recreation Area.
A beloved local tradition to celebrate the arrival of summer, this favorite family event will again offer the most comprehensive and affordable celebration of arts and culture in Humboldt County, with more than 100 diverse performances on 4+ stages, over 150 handmade craft and food booths, an all-media Fine Arts Showcase, Outrageous Kid Zone, Belly Dance Temple, the Generation Green Tent, and so much more.
Admission for the festival will be at the gate only for price of $15 per day or $25 for the weekend pass. Kids 12 & under are free. Gates open at 9:30am both days and the fun wraps up at 10pm. Free shuttle service is offered continuously from Redway, Garberville and Richardson Grove campgrounds. A limited amount of paid parking is also available in Benbow.

“Roots of the Rocks Music Festival” will take place June 13-16 just outside of Moab, Utah at the festival venue “Area BFE”, this is the magical venue that launched the Desert Rocks and Powellapalooza Music Festivals!
The event is aimed at both celebrating and stengthening the foundation of the Southern Utah musical movement that spawned the Desert Rocks Music Festival, the Powellapalooza Music Festival, and that provided great support to the Cosmonauts in their creation of the SoLLun, Building Man, and Melon Nights.
The Gathering is geared towards providing an amazing desert festival experience to the event patron while at the same time providing regional bands, dj’s, artists, vendors, and performers the exposure they need to further their careers.
Roots of the Rocks Musical Gathering is the very definition of a grassroots event. At the gathering you will find some of the top up and coming talent from the Western United Stated, with a focus on the four corners region.
